In 2016 a great revolution in Brazilian Medicine began, after 15 years of great debates and discussions, Brazilian Emergency finally acquired a new status, becoming a Medical specialty recognized by all our institutions. Now, Brazilian Emergency Medicine is part of a group with more than one hundred other countries where the specialty is recognized and valued.

Emergency Medicine as a specialty proved to be essential for the development of the health systems of these countries with important contributions in the organization and management of health actions, which resulted in lower mortality and morbidity in the nations involved. The professional became a specialist respected for his skills and technical knowledge. His commanding posture has become a model for the entrance doors of the health systems. The patient now has more confidence in their treatments, because they now have a physician who is dedicated, trained, and capable of unraveling this wonderful environment.

The recognition of the specialty was only the first step towards the necessary and urgent changes in Brazilian emergencies. The chaotic state that we find today in our emergency rooms must give way to a new environment, with organization, management and adequate flows. A great work awaits us throughout Brazil and requires the engagement of all those who wish to have qualified and humanized care for you and your family.

The Brazilian Institute of Emergency Medicine - IEB, will be a great promoter of Brazilian Emergency Medicine and begins its work with the launching of this journal. REBRAME - Brazilian Journal of Emergency Medicine is nothing more than a loud cry in this tireless fight for the development of this extraordinary specialty.

Emergency never stops; 24h, seven days a week.

Emergency now, Love forever.
